Lately it's been difficult to comment when so much is going on. Actually, I thought it was best to take a step back and try not to react so much as to digest everything going on and then write something a little more balanced and well thought out.
I think I should start with my mood which I would describe as "cautiously ok." Personally, everything seems to be running as good as can be, all things considered. I am still gainfully employed and my wife has a good job where she is valued and that's a nice feeling. I work in sales and the sense of being valued is fleeting to say the least. At least at my company it's never "great job and we're thankful to have you" but more like "what have you done for me lately." I'll never understand that. But the truth is, we're very blessed to have careers that allow us to take care of our obligations (even though it hurts sometimes).
The earthquake in Haiti is very sad and tragic. I know many thousands went off into eternity and as a born again Christian it's difficult to imagine how many died without ever accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. The reality is, the majority didn't know Him and never asked Him to save them. It's not anything that can be changed now but it does give us a moment to pause and do a "spiritual checkup" on ourselves. We need to ask ourselves, "am I doing everything I can to spread the Gospel?" If the answer is no then think about all those who died in this earthquake and remember them. They had no warning before they stepped out into eternity...
Another thing that has my attention is this race in Massachusetts. Kennedy's old seat. I love what Brown had to say about it, "it's not Ted Kennedy's seat it's the people's seat." Isn't that so true. That belongs to the people of Massachusetts and not the Kennedy's or the Democratic party. They've held the seat forever but maybe now the balance has shifted.
I don't know what will happen but I do think it's ironic that if Brown wins this seat that he could be the one vote to break the super majority the Democrats now hold in the Senate. It would be a neat little footnote in History that the vote that could/would kill heatlh care came from the Senate chair of the man who was once the greatest champion of Socialized Medicine. How ironic indeed!
Folks, whether you want to admit it, look forward to it, or even care about it, the fact remains that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back AND soon! Don't be left behind and don't align yourself with wickedness and evil. If you find yourself going along with the majority then you may want to take a step back and test it against Scripture. It's the wide road that leads to destruction. Why is the road wide? Because it's the road that everyone takes...

The Pain of being a Bengals Fan
The season is finally over. I don't know how the Bengals ever made it to 10-6 this year. It must have been a really down year for the AFC North. In fact, there's no question about that because 6 of their 10 wins came in their own division. Their schedule outside the division should have left them with a few more wins. Most notably Oakland, Kansas City, Houston and yes, the Jets. They are notorious for playing down to their competition. You can really only blame the players for not showing up and getting up for these games but ultimately the spotlight will shine on Marvin Lewis.
I think Lewis's time has passed here in Cincy. We need a new Offensive Coordinator as Bratkowski has become very vanilla and predictable. The whole "jumbo" offensive line worked on the AFC North but nobody else apparently. Ahh well, another offseason of hopes and dreams. They need to sign their key free agents and draft some good wide receivers and defensive lineman. While they're at it, they may need to check out another CB and safety.

Headlines
How depressing! Go to MSNBC's website or Drudgereport and you'll see all kinds of negative, repugnant stuff. You'll see how many people are losing their jobs and their homes. You'll read about children robbing banks with toy guns and notes handed to bank tellers. You'll read about pediatricians going to prison for the better part of their lives because they gave into their lust and molested their minor patients. You'll read about a president who can't make up his mind on anything only to return to the "ole bread and butter play," and blame his predecessor. How about the two wars we're fighting and the terrorists we're fighting against? Or how about the massive overhaul to a health care system that the majority of people don't believe needs to be overhauled?
This is all a bunch of negative crap that we are inundated with on a daily basis. No wonder my mom can't stand to watch the news any longer. No wonder guys like me think the end is near. It has to be because it can't get much worse, can it? Jesus said, "as it were in the days of Noe, so also shall the coming of the Son of Man be..." Shoot, for a pre-tribulationist like myself that statement refers to His actual physical return to the Mt of Olives not the rapture of the Church. That event occurs seven years prior. Can you imagine how bad it must have been in Noah's day? Now take where we are now and add seven years to it. Jesus has to be close, right?

Aspiring to be the guy on the street corner.
Have you ever sat around to think about what role you would have in a movie if you were cast as you? Would you be a school teacher? How about a banker or someone with a lot of power and influence? How about a politician or doctor? Me, I would hope I would be cast as the "crazy" guy standing on the corner with a simple sign that reads, "The End is Near!" I think of Kareem Abdul Jabbar in that role in Stephen King's The Stand.
I know that most of my close friends know exactly how I feel about things but even they really don't know how deeply my convictions go. There are members of my family who would cringe and feel very uncomfortable around me if they knew. How sad! The truth of the matter is that there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think I could/should be doing more with what I KNOW is the Truth. I guess I'm a little disappointed in myself. I didn't make Godly decisions at key points in my life and as a result I'm not living up to what I'm capable of.
Hopefully this blog will help. Even if nobody reads it. At least I'll know that there is a part of me out there.... on a street corner.

Israel needs to act
Israel needs to just do it. They need to solve the world's Iranian problem and yes it is the world's problem. We (the world) have allowed this tiny Persian country to literally scare the hell out of virtually everyone on the planet who isn't Muslim. See, their "little Hitler" is bound and determined to bring about the return of the 12th Imam. That's the Muslim Messiah. Let me be clear, their Imam is not the same as Jesus Christ. There is only one Jesus and they are NOT the same. Achmadinejad is a lunatic who is bound and determined to produce nuclear weapons in an effort to use those nukes to bring about the Imam's return. I guess if enough chaos and destruction is caused then the Imam will have to come back.
I believe that Israel needs to go ahead and remove Iran's capability to produce such calamity and destruction. I mean, how can you reason with nut-jobs like the ones in Iran? Obama believes he can and that just proves how ignorant he is. The only way to deal with this threat is through military action and since the United States has castrated itself (Thanks Obama) then the only other nation on the planet who can and would handle the job is Israel.
Load up the planes and make it happen. I will be praying for you.

Coldest Winter in 25 years
I work outside and believe me, it's cold. I'm hearing about how this winter is going to be the worst one we've seen in a couple of decades. Why? What is causing the winter to be sooooo bad? Global Warming? Maybe that makes sense to guys like AlGore and Leo but not to me. Let me be honest with ya, mankind can probably have minimal effects on climate but only to the extent that God allows. Don't be fooled for a second into believing that mankind is going to destroy our atmosphere and ecology without God allowing it. In fact, you can count on mankind as being a non factor in that department. The Bible is quite clear that the earth is going to survive some very serious disasters which may happen in the not to distant future.
Underwear Bomber?
You've got to be kidding me? How does something like this happen? The guy goes into an international airport and buys a ticket with cash and has no luggage to check. Does that seem odd to anyone? In addition to that his daddy contacts US officials in an effort to warn them that his son is now a Muslim extremist and is probably up to no good.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
You know what I want to know is who is financing this guy? I'm a pretty smart guy but I wouldn't know how to or have the finances for an operation that called for me to hide explosives in my underwear. I mean, who comes up with that? Where is Dick Cheney and his ruthlessness? We need him to call up a few of his buddies from the good 'ole days and go talk to this guy.

End of 2009
This is my very first blog entry! Wow, I have so many thoughts and things to say about the last year, decade, century. First let me say that what you're reading is from a Born Again Evangelical Christian. I am a literalist of the Bible. I believe it to be truly the inspired Word of God. I don't believe the "man wrote it" garbage just like I don't believe this computer is writing the things I'm thinking. I'm actually telling it what to do... :-)
This blog won't deal with only one thing. Sure, I'm going to hit Eschatology hard as I totally believe we're living in the last days but I want it to be something more than just prophetic commentary. I'm going to touch on politics, world events, history, Biblical topics, Science (creation vs evolution), sports, all kinds of stuff.
Here we go.
2009 is one of those years that you just want to forget. The economy is terrible and people are suffering at levels not seen in decades. I know we can't blame Obama for all of it although he is NOT helping things at all but Bush shares much of the blame along with Congress. Those of you out there who hate the Republicans and blame them for everything going on tends to forget that liberals have had control of Congress for several years now. Bush just signed the garbage they came up with. There's plenty of blame.
If Reid and Pelosi send this terrible Health Care Bill to Obama we're all in trouble. Of course he'll sign it, taxes will go up immediately, and the majority of the garbage in the bill won't happen for several years down the road. That's like paying two or three years in advance for a car you can't drive. Why would anyone agree to that? What is wrong with people?
I don't have too much faith left in people to do the right thing. Sadly, time and time again people have just been good at one thing, letting others down. Pretty pathetic!
